“The Spy” — One‑of‑a‑Kind Automaton
The Spy is a completely unique, one‑off automaton built here in my workshop in the Highlands. It’s a character piece with a quiet sense of mischief — a lone figure who turns, watches, and reveals just enough to make you wonder what he’s really up to.
This automaton is driven entirely by a hand‑turned crank and a compact internal mechanism designed specifically for this build. The movements are deliberate and expressive: the subtle head turn, the shifting posture, and the small narrative beats that give the character life. As with all my work, every component has been shaped, fitted, and refined. — from the hardwood body to the brass and steel elements inside.
The Spy will not be repeated or reproduced. This is the only version that will ever exist, signed and dated on the underside.
