About me

Hi, I'm Oliver Pett, an artist, engineer and craftsman. I design and build contemporary automata, handcrafted, bespoke and unique mechanical sculptures, one-offs and limited editions.

I'm based in Tain near Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland.

Inspired by my childhood trips to Cabaret Mechanical Theatre in Covent Garden. I have been making automata for over 30 years for my pleasure. I'm now finally pursuing my passion as a business.

My intention is to always design, engineer and craft these pieces with prowess for them to last a lifetime.

Building automata requires a multidisciplined skill set, which I have required over many years. Being completely self taught, I’m always pushing my boundaries for perfection and quality.
